Ravi Bopara’s international career has been fairly inconsistent to date. He has the talent to perform at the highest level, but his record doesn’t do this justice. The Essex man will look to go some way to putting this right tonight when he gets his latest Twenty20 chance.
Bopara has been out of favour with England lately, but will play against New Zealand tonight after Kevin Pietersen returned home for the birth of his first child.
This is an important chance for Bopara and although it is too early in his career to say that it is make or break, he could certainly do with making an impact. He showed promise in the warm-up games for the World Twenty20 and a repeat of this success tonight would see him firmly back in the England picture.
